This report describes the installation of a multiparametric station for continuous, long-term monitoring at the Mefite d’Ansanto site (Irpinia, Southern Apennines), one of the most significant examples of natural degassing in a non-volcanic area worldwide. It also presents measurements carried out during a geochemical survey aimed at detecting both soil-diffused gases and free gases in air. The gas emissions provide a natural laboratory of particular interest for studying tectonic degassing processes and their possible correlations with seismicity and crustal dynamics. The multiparametric installation included the placement of a CTD probe (conductivity, temperature, depth) inside a bubbling artesian well. In addition, a compact meteorological station was installed nearby to correlate...
