Abstract

This collection is intended for those who wish to learn more about the 2009 earthquake in L’Aquila which, as is well known, in addition to the tragedy of 309 victims, countless injuries and extensive damage, triggered a series of chain reactions that culminated in the so-called ‘Grandi Rischi’ (Major Risks) trial, or as introduced in international literature “The L’Aquila Seven”, with the related convictions (in the first instance9) of seven scientists and Civil Protection officials, and the subsequent acquittals of six of the seven convicted, with the sole exception of the deputy head of Civil Protection Bernardo De Bernardinis, albeit with a reduced and suspended sentence.
